The Gardens at Oakfield Farm are the product of many years of love and care. Many of the trees are over 100 years old and were planted by gardeners who would enjoy the shade of these magnificent trees.

Some of the rose gardens have roses whose names have long been forgotten but still grace many of the beautiful pictures. Today the gardens are the first choice of many of South Africa's leading photographers and are the essence of Oakfield farm.

The Oakfield Chapel set amongst Cottonwood trees, at the source of the freshwater spring and on the edge of the forest, offers an intimate setting for your service. The Chapel is consecrated and can seat up to 160 guests. Railway sleeper pews, wrought iron chandeliers and stained glass windows provide an atmosphere of rustic elegance, synonymous to Oakfield Farm.

The arrival of the bride in the horse-drawn carriage is an exciting and special moment for all. The bridge in the forest leading to the Chapel, is the perfect backdrop for group photographs after your service. The Chapel epitomises the homeliness of Oakfield Farm. It is our aim to make our guests feel completely at home, and enjoy the lovely surroundings away from the pressures of everyday life.

The Conservatory –
Distinctive Architecture.

The original "Orchid House" has been redesigned, creating a setting unique to Oakfield Farm. The Conservatory has been designed with the photographer and videographer in mind and extensive glass embedded in the roof give excellent natural light. The Conservatory can seat up to 300 guests and is ideal for larger services.

It is a versatile setting in that it allows you the opportunity to have your service amidst the guests or traditionally at the altar. The horse-drawn carriage is able to drive through the Conservatory making for a spectacular grand entrance for the bride and her retinue.

The Summerhouse –
Bringing the garden into the venue.

The light spilling through the glass gable ends onto the old-fashioned scissor beams make the venue quite different from the Homestead.

In fine weather, the specially designed glass sliding doors open onto the garden on three sides to create the feeling that you are well and truly in the country surrounded be English country gardens. Extensive use of wood, chandeliers filled with candles and two attractive fireplaces provide a cosy and intimate atmosphere in the colder months.

A bonfire will be lit outdoors for added warmth and atmosphere. The architecture of the Summerhouse enables a wide range of floor plans to be used. Functions of 30 guests for an intimate wedding will feel comfortable as will a gracious function of 140 guests if the veranda is used.

The Homestead

originally the old barn, was restored in 1991. The building has been completely refurbished. Eight huge glass skylights bring natural light into the venue. Bay windows and sliding wooden doors bring the garden into the venue. Two lovely expansive verandahs with Colonial leather sofas open on to wooden decks which overlook the "Zevenfontein" spring and indigenous woodlands. The glass roof of the underground wine cellar displays an extensive range of fine wines. More than 150 glass candles create a soft and romantic ambience to compliment the elegant table settings. This versatile venue in design allows for a wide range of seating options. These may include Oakfield's unique 16 seater banqueting tables, which make the wedding feel like the banquet it is meant to be. The venue includes a large sprung wooden dance floor.

The Dairy

is utterly unique. On their way to the dedicated parking area, your guests will feel the stress and tension of the city dissipate as they are captivated by the charm of The Dairy and the farm life of yesteryear that it embraces. The atmosphere is laid back and homely with the option of a beautiful garden wedding with stunning Highveld sunsets. Although perfectly laid out with all the necessities for a perfect function such as the bar, cocktail lounge and dance floor; The Dairy retains its authenticity with the original dung sluices covered with glass panels and the step-up to the pasteurising machine.

Unfortunately, the original food troughs had to make way to accommodate the varied floor plans that make every function distinct.

Bridal Retinue Dressing Room

Oakfield dressing rooms have been built for the bride and her retinue to dress and are available from 08h30 to midnight. They are specifically located at each venue and also include a small and private garden. The reasons are obvious. Not only does this allow the bride to participate and enjoy the decorating of the venue, it also enables the retinue to be kept up to date as to the wedding plans unfolding. Skylights in the roof provide for natural light for the make up artist and instead of beds large tables and comfortable seating for a sizeable retinue is available. The dressing rooms include spa facilities, baths and showers. The room is air-conditioned. Gowns and Slippers are provided for the wedding party at a nominal cost.

The Bridal Suites

at Oakfield Farm offer absolute privacy for the newlyweds where they can enjoy each others company in a beautiful and tranquil setting. The 5-star bridal suites have everything to make your honeymoon night comfortable including king size beds, air-conditioning and a private bar. The creative flair that you can expect from Oakfield is evident in these beautiful suites. After a soothing steam bath, enjoy an invigorating shower together or lie back in a hot bath under the stars.

The Oakfield Guest House

is conveniently situated near the entrance to the farm, nestling in-between the old Oak trees. As with all our facilities, we have endeavoured to maintain our reputation for hospitality with an elegant yet homely touch. The Guest House is able to accommodate 12 guests. Most clients book the guest house exclusively for their wedding. A delicious breakfast is enjoyed in our dining room or the garden. There the family are able to spend some quality time together. Couples are invited to book the guest house before the wedding so that there is no travelling on the day.
